Nutella stuffed doughnuts

Berlinas_Nutella-26Donuts, doughnuts …  there are so many different recipes and they can be filled in so many different shapes and flavors !! A recipe that, for me, everyone should ever do. Because there is nothing more tasty than some homemade freshly made doughnuts for breakfast. This recipe is also easy, fast and has very few ingredients and all very simple. I have coated those with sugar and cinnamon and I’ve filled them with Nutella, simple and delicious!

Berlinas_Nutella-3Last year by this time I published a recipe of the famous “German Krapfen”, which come to be the same as the doughnuts and they eat them for Carnival in Germany. The truth is that last year’s recipe was a bit complicated and wanted to try something simpler.

Berlinas_Nutella-11And making this type of sweets has already become a kind of tradition for me. So this year I wanted to repeat but with something simpler. I found this recipe on the website of Dr. Oetker Germany and I found it simple, so I encouraged myself to try it. But I have to say that I am not very happy with the result because the dough is not as fluffy as it should be.

Of course, the shape may not be perfect, but the taste is incredible !! Although I think that Dr. Oetker does not have much merit there, rather is that the combination of sugar and cinnamon coating and the Nutella filling is infallible!

Berlinas_Nutella-15Today’s post is simple and short, for extravagant cake we had quite a bit last week. By the way, I write it from my nice and brand new Macbook Pro, I’m so happy (uuuuuuiiiiiiiii) with my self-gift that has arrived quite late 🙂 There we go !! Let’s make doughnuts!!

Nutella stuffed doughnuts

Ingredients

  • 125 ml milk
  • 100 g butter
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 sachet of baker's yeast (dried)
  • 30 g of sugar
  • 2 Tbsp rum
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs and 1 yolk
  • 1 liter of sunflower oil for frying
  • FILLING AND COATING:
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 200 g Nutella

In a saucepan over a gentle heat, heat the milk with the butter until the butter melts, it does not have to boil. In a large bowl, or in the bowl of the kneader if you have, mix the flour with the baker's yeast. Make a hole in the flour and pour the mixture of milk and butter.

Pour the rest of the ingredients and knead everything well with the kneader or by hand for at least 5 minutes. You have to get a well-worked dough that easily removes off the bowl. Make a ball with the dough, cover the bowl with a rag and leave to grow in a temperate place until it doubles its size. It will depend on the temperature, but it will take between 1 and 2 hours.

When it has fermented, remove the dough from the bowl, knead it on a floured surface with your hands a little more so that it loses its force and stretch it with a roller. Using a round cookie cutter or a glass cut dough circles and place them in a floured pan. With the remains of dough again knead and repeat the operation until there is no dough left.

Cover the tray with a rag and let it ferment again until they double in size. Between 45 min and 1 hour.

Heat the oil in a pot or high frying pan you should use abundant and the pan should be high so that when frying do not touch the bottom. When the oil reaches 180 ° C (if you do not have a thermometer you have to do it by eye, but it should not be very hot) begin to fry the doughnuts in groups of 2 or 3 first by the face above. Fry for about 2 minutes on each side. Remove from the oil and place in a dish with kitchen paper to remove excess oil.

In a bowl mix the sugar with the cinnamon spoon. Roll the sedans into the sugar. Heat the Nutella in microwave 1 minute so it is more fluid. Fill a pastry bag or a syringe with the nutella and stuff the doughnuts with the cream to your taste (that is, a lot, a lot Nutella !!)
