A super breakfast full of energy but also full of vitamins and super nutritious. And with those colors who can resist to try it? You have no excuse to eat a healthy breakfast and using fresh products, this smoothie is ready in 5 minutes and with fruits and vegetables that are really common.
I already know that you love cakes, toffee and chocolate. But it can not be all sugar-filled sweets and calories, from time to time we have to be a little healthy. So, since like last week I published a recipe of a mega foodporn cake, this week it’s worth compensating with something healthier, so six of one and half a dozen of the other 🙂
Sure you have already tried smoothies, in fact the smoothie bowl are super trendy and all the Internet is full of recipes with many alternatives and beautiful creations by the way, because as you can see with the decoration you can do very nice things. In fact, I really wanted to post a smoothie recipe since a while and I confess that it was just to play with the decoration and take pictures because they look so beautiful !!
And the decoration in this dish is super important, because this kind of smoothies don’t have a very appetizing appearance, rather than that they look like a boring porridge that if served alone, nobody wants to eat that. But playing with the colors of the fruits and flowers in the toppings the thing is magically transformed into a beautiful and super appetizing dish.
I have read several smoothie recipes because I confess, that every once in a while I make some for breakfast myself, especially when I have a lot of accumulated old fruit. What I have found on several occasions is that many have ingredients that are quite difficult to find and that in most cases can be skipped. This recipe for example, I adapted it from the blog Veggie Boogie changing the ingredients a little so that it is simpler and is tasty anyway.
To those of you who are great lovers of cakes and other sweet recipes I usually post, I owe you an apology for posting green things this week. How do I dare, right? Losing readers in 3, 2, 1 …. hahaha. Not seriously, next week I compensate you, okay? I’m not sure yet what I’m going to post but I assure you it will be sweet and delicious;)
Green Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients
- 2 frozen ripe bananas
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 kiwis
- 1 green apple
- 1 handful of baby spinach
- the juice of 1 orange
- 500 g of coconut yogurt (or natural yogurt if you don't like coconut)
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- TOPPINGS:
- mini kiwis
- strips of dried coconut
- fresh berries
Instructions
Place all the ingredients in the blender and process well for about 2 minutes so that everything is well blended and you have a smooth and creamy smoothie.
Serve in a bowl and decorate to taste.
Consume immediately so as not to let it warm up or let the fruit to oxidize.
