Cau de sucre joins the unicorn fever that seems to plunge the planet this year and brings you these so psychedelic and decadent milkshakes!! I just thought that we are going to need something colorful before the winter comes for real 🙂
Since a while I wanted to make one of these corny pinky recipes for the blog. It has been too long with only serious staff, right? Well, I guess it’s up to my mood lately … But this is over!! Now I only see unicorns, colors and hope.
That’s just the way I feel right now. New work, new expectations, full of motivation, like this it is a pleasure to wake every day!! I only have two weeks in the new job, but at the moment I really like what I see and every time I’m more convinced that I’ve taken the right decision. Although, when they start talking to me in German at high speed and I do get anything of what they say, I feel quite overwhelmed and I want to jump out the window. In my previous job, most of the time the communication was in English, and now I pay the consequences. But hey, I just disconnected sometimes and say yes to everything. Let’s see how long it takes for them to realize, hehehe.
In addition, the Bavarian climate has been also a week in total unicorn mode and is giving us a few sunny days and some autumn landscapes and colors that leave you breathless. So, how can I not be happy?
But it happened also that, and this really made me super happy, last Saturday I was in a Workshop organized by one of the most important press group in Germany, the group Hubert Burda Media, that publishes magazines of several subjects, but among them some very famous baking and cooking ones.
I was contacted from the editorial office some time ago to invite me to attend the workshop and to meet in person to discuss possible cooperation. Well, besides that the workshop was super interesting and the majestic classes given by the most interesting Chefs invited. The people from the editorial with whom I spoke were impressed with my blog, my photos and we are already discussing future cooperation.
I have also been contacted by the Stockfood platform to talk about the possibility of selling some of my pictures, I still do not believe it!! And all of that happened even though, I was there myself as an innocent one, no business cards or anything (other people were very well prepared for the meetings!!!) and without speaking good German. But it seems that my work speaks for myself and you cannot imagine how happy I feel about it. My ego and I cannot fit through the door lately XD
And now let’s talk about something serious, can anyone tell me what’s going on with the unicorn fever this year?? Seriously, I do not know about other countries, but in Germany the unicorn fever has invaded all public spaces and they are everywhere. Even the toilet and the kitchen paper (I swear, true story) are sold with unicorn motifs!! So cute by the way, obviously you can imagine who buys them 😉 I love unicorns! uuuuuiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Unicorn Milkshake (strawberry and blueberry flavour)
- 300 ml strawberry ice cream
- 300 ml frozen yogurt
- 100 g of fresh or frozen blueberries
- 300 ml milk
- Strawberry syrup
- Whipped cream
- 50 g white chocolate
- Assorted color sprinkles
- Mini ice cream cones for the horn
- Purple food coloring (optional)
We begin decorating the jars or glasses that you are going to use so that they are ready just to serve the milkshake. Melt the chocolate in the microwave. Dip the opening of the glass into the melted white chocolate and coat it with sprinkles to stick to the chocolate. Let it harden for about 2 minutes. Repeat the step with the tip of the mini ice cream cones.
I have made two shakes, one strawberry and one blueberry flavor, but of course you can use the flavors (and colors) that you like. Prepare the strawberry milkshake by mixing the strawberry ice cream with 150 ml of milk in the blender. Process until well combined. To prepare the blueberry, blend the blueberries, frozen yogurt and the remaining 150 ml of milk.
Before filling the glasses with the milkshake, sprinkle the walls of the glass with a little strawberry syrup and you can put some purple food coloring on the walls that will give you a very psychedelic effect.
Pour alternately into the glasses the strawberry and the blueberry milkshakes. Serves with a nice mountain of whipped cream and to finish decorates with more sprinkles, marshmallows, cotton candy and the mini cookie cone as horn.
